Evaluations for Children & Adolescents
For concerns for autism spectrum disorder, I combine the parent intake, observations and standardized measures to help assess for features of autism spectrum disorder in children. I specifically use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule™(ADOS™-2), which is a standardized assessment of communication, social interaction, play, and restricted and repetitive behaviors in children. During an ADOS™-2 assessment, I interact directly with the child in social and play activities in order to conclude a diagnosis.
Autism Evaluations for Adults
For adults seeking clarity regarding autism spectrum disorder, I integrate a clinical developmental history with standardized measures to assess for neurodivergent features. I specifically utilize the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule™ (ADOS™-2), which is adapted for adults to evaluate social communication, reciprocal interaction, and restricted or repetitive patterns. During an adult ADOS™-2 assessment, I engage you in semi-structured conversations and activities to better understand your unique communication style and determine if a diagnosis is appropriate.
